Mey Village Hall

The design by Arch Henderson and Partners, officially opened by H.R.H. Prince Charles, includes a large sports/entertainment space with permanent stage, a kitchen servery/bar, meeting room, small hall. All of which complies with current disabled access legislation. The hall is heated by a ground source heat pump and fully equipped with new furnishings and equipment. The construction undertaken by GMR Henderson took just over a year to complete at an approximate cost of £ 700,000 and the quality workmanship throughout was evident and much admired.

The refurbishment involved demolishing the existing extensions while still retaining the existing stone façade, the installation of a new steel portal framework within the existing building to support the new roof and extension. Complete renovation including under floor heating, new electrical installation, high specification insulation, double glazed windows to reduce the carbon footprint, bespoke oak staircase, oak flooring and finishing’s.

Illustrative example of the superb matching of modern stone with old.
Excellent stone work provides a near seamless integration between original & modern.
